Acrylic Paint on Canvasboard

This is one of two 2021 paintings dedicated to Galgos. These beautiful dogs are being used for dog racing and famously disposed of in cruel fashion.

According to animal rescue services in Europe

50 000 galgos are being hung, shot, burned, drowned, starved or killed with acid every year.

Whatever other disgusting way of murder you can imagine, I'm sure someone already tried it. It is unthinkable to see ourselves as anything above barbaric monsters if we continue to treat living beings like that.

The shared title of these paintings is the german word for "gallows", which coincidentally sounds similar to the name of the dog breed.
